I Write Because I Must

I have wanted to write novels since I was 8.
I got serious with my firstborn in his carriage and I get a second mortgage on my house and bought an OEM computer.
It was for writing a book. (I published Jettison in 2000.)
It also was to make me unique and more knowledgeable in my chosen profession. I wrote a helluva lot of technical documentation, user manuals, data sheets, application notes and - my favorite- designing and creating and then lecturing graduate level seminars and workshops. And of course term papers, and multiple graduate degree thesis. (BSE, MSE, and PhD) 
All the time, keeping the writing of other things - short stories, a novel, and dozens if not 100 story starts - practice in developing characters.
Because I couldn't write novels (kids, work) I took to blogging (in 1993 and experimented with what ended up as an eLearning expert. (1997) IN 2002 I was project manager on ILS to eLEarning conversion - evaluating the cost -effectiveness (for technical classes - no.) 
Put two my three technical books on-line(1993-4) using HTML 1. 
My computers are now top of the line iMACs and a Dell. 
18 books came out but no advertising yet (that's next) 
8 more books in the publishing path. 

Before I retired my kids were watching me fuss over a story one day and my older son made a comment.
"You are really happy when you are writing."
YES.
I looked at retirement to be my hour to get things done and I ignored yard work and housework at times. 
I write because I must. I don't give a damn if you don't like my characters. My stories. I will still write them. 
I am happiest when creating scenes and watching my characters evolve. 
Writing is my passion. Technical or fictional or redoing my blog. I need too write. I must write. Bury me with a pen in my hand and my keyboard for a pillow. 

Nothing will stop me.

Cancer can go to hell.
